Armscor Chief Executive Officer Award
ASAP has won the Armscor Chief Executive Officer award for 2004, as part of the team in developing a unique
cash-in-transit vehicle based on the Mercedes Benz Sprinter 616 chassis. The cash-in-transit vehicle in
question was based on a Sprinter 616CDI chassis and formed part of a succesful tender bid to SBV Services Pty(Ltd).
The tender was for 60 units that had to be supplied over a 2 year contract period. This unique design also
received top international recognition from Lloyds of London as the best Cash-In-Transit vehicle on the road.
What makes this award more prestigeous is the fact that Armscor normally handle defence force issues as far as
quality control is condcerned. This specific vehicle was designed and constructed to the hightest quality levels
and this is what has made it such a success and a world first.
At this point ASAP are the leading Cash-In-Transit vehicle designers in South-Africa, and this award
underlines this fact.
